Scrub AI scoops two Gold awards at Insurance Times Awards

It was a night to remember for the Scrub AI team last week at the prestigious Insurance Times Awards.
We headed to the ceremony knowing we were sharing the room with some of the biggest names in the industry. To walk away with two Gold awards, Excellence in AI and Excellence in Technology (Service Provider), was a genuine surprise and a very proud moment for all of us.
And while the trophies are lovely, they also signal something bigger. The market is finally ready to move on from the data bottlenecks that have been holding the sector back for years.
Validation of the problem
The judges noted they were “impressed by Scrub AI’s passionate vision… and a clear demonstration that highlighted how AI can work to solve business problems.”
It was clear that what they were looking for was substance, how well the solution works in practice, and how clients are actually becoming more efficient. To have that impact validated by people who understand the nuts and bolts of the market is a huge vote of confidence.
Scrub AI was born out of a specific frustration.
Our team has lived the pain of manual data cleaning first-hand, the same pain that so many underwriting and delegated authority teams still face. We know what it is like to spend hours staring at spreadsheets when you could be doing the work that really matters.
That experience shaped a product which we wish we’d had back then.
Of course, knowing the problem is only half of it. Solving it meant committing to AI long before it was sexy. Over the last five years, we have trained over 50 specialised machine learning models on millions of rows of real insurance data.
That depth of training gives our platform the context it needs to handle the messy reality of SOVs and bordereaux with genuine accuracy. It is this combination of the market knowledge and technology built specifically for insurance that turns a long-standing bottleneck into efficiency, just as the judges recognised.
A word from the founders
Nicola Turner, Co-Founder & COO:
“Our industry has accepted data transformation and ingestion as a bottleneck for years. These awards show that the mindset is shifting. It’s 2025…. teams should have data they can pick up and work with straight away.“
“We never set out to build technology for the sake of it. We spent years training our models on real insurance data and building something reliable, secure and fit for the complexity of this market. To see that focus on substance recognised with two Gold awards is the best validation we could ask for.“
We want to say a huge thank you to Insurance Times for the platform and recognition. And finally, a massive thank you to our team for building something that is being recognised in this way, and to our partners and clients for believing in us.
Big congratulations as well to all the other winners and finalists. It was inspiring to see so many strong contributions across the industry.
